It's hardly meta breaking from what I've observed. I doubt it was because of the AoB that Lax won

its the spike.

the spike is evil. If they nerf it, the nerf will probolly be pious back to its old worthless self.

I love the new pious its so nice.

Doubt they would nerf it that much. But possibly they will nerf like 4 skills used with it like they did with SP sins.

I'm afraid Attacker's Insight might be nerfed.

Chilling Victory, Pious Assault, Eremite's, with pre-casted Attacker's Insight.

2nd off:

Avatar of Balthazar has a decent amount of PvP power; while it is up you can do anything you feel like doing. You're not going to blow up with 110 armor, and with the nerf to Pious Haste nothing can catch a Balthazar Dervish. The main knocks on the form are that it doesn't add any new abilities, and it doesn't really compress your bar - do you really want to play without a speed boost during the form's downtime? But in the absence of a killer elite, one that lets you run around and do anything you like has a lot of appeal, and I don't fault people for taking advantage of that at all.
This is constructive. This is a reason to use AoB. I opened with the a notion that it was already crap, no one needed to confirm that for me. I knew it. This, however, is a coherent argument about the effectiveness of AoB. Although I found the similes about Water Guns and Assault Rifles quite humorous, I think we can all agree that it was wasted Kilobytes. Everyone who registered on this forum, also, obviously knows that people will run things because they will. That doesn't need to be explained. Just registering the GWG shows that you have shown at least an attempt at making yourself better at this game, and we really shouldn't deign to point out the obvious to each other. There is no reason to just flame each other in a public thread, that is what private chat is for. So please, lets stay coherent and respectful of each other....I'm surprised we haven't seen any cats....

On that note, feel free to flame me (in private, that is), it's rather late and my english is getting less coherent by the minute...

And 3rd off:

continue

Actually I think it was: Grenth's Aura -> Attacker's Insight -> Chilling -> Pious -> Emerties.

I already posted the build a couple of pages back. If people would actually bother to read the thread...

Grent's is a coherent addition to the build in overall. It's the spike that is powerful and used on basically every dervish bar - SP dervish, beguiling dervish, avatars' dervish (even Mel!). Grenth's is an addition for particular situations, not necessary for the spike itself.

Not necessary for the spike, but it's really strong in combination with Pious Assault.
Think about it - all nearby enemies lose an enchant when PA goes off...

I'm not saying it isn' useful, just that it's not necessary for the spike itself, but whatever

The reason for no cats is because the posts so far, regardless of quality, were constructive in some way; i.e. it related to the thread topic, did nothing to do otherwise to derail it, nor was there any flaming.

On the topic, Avatar of Balthazar is now used because of Pious Assault. Previously, Melandru let you use Wearying Strike, which was an Eviscerate with Melandru but below average when you don't have Melandru. Pious Assault gave a different option for Dervishes to get a Deep Wound. Previously, it would've been pretty dumb to run Avatar of Balthazar, yes.

Don't be cheap, buy some nice armour, and use wounding strike.

Wounding strike is arguably the most useless *derv* elite with the buff to pious assault now.

I don't think you're following me ^_^. With the Avatars up the appearance is replaced with well, the avatar. Armor has no effect on how my man-Dervish is dressed up when he's got Avatars on him, and he doesn't like having lady lumps.

Hence him telling you to get nice armour and to NOT use a avatar

From the op: "Why is it that so many people feel compelled to always have this on their bar?"

Just responding to the question =).

so man comments to make on the lady lumps thing but I wont.

Personally i have begun to like the AoB spike for PvP since it really hurts and its hard to kite it.......but other than that spike AoB is still a droks runner for me only.

Vow of Silence running is too easy i like to have a slight challenge since i only run friends and guildies now
